When I first heard of a mask that boldly promised “If you use Masque Vivant at least twice a week, you’ll never age”, well, to be honest at first, I thought it was a very clever marketing gimmick. However, seeing that the Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant Rebalancing Face Mask has earned a loyal cult following, put together with the fact that it is one of the top 5 masks used in any of the Biologique Recherche customized facials, I simply had to know what all the fuss was about. Fast forward a number of years, I can honestly say that I reach for this mask at least once a week, and if I forgot to pack it during travels, it is the first mask I use when I get home.

I do want to point out that the mask has a very unique and quite strong yeast odor, which quite a few people find rather off-putting. Personally, when it was first applied on me during a BR facial, I was seriously considering getting up and leaving right then and there! HAHA However, once I saw the results, especially after repeated use, I knew that I was just going to have to put up with the look and smell for 20 minutes, because it was just SO WORTH IT! The good news is, my aesthetician was right in that once you start using it regularly, you really do get used to the smell, so it becomes really not a big deal.

My favorite way to use this product:
• Cleanse or double cleanse
• Apply Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 PIGM 400 right after cleansing to remove impurities, balance PH, and treat hyperpigmentation
• Apply a layer of Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant to face and neck
• After 15-20 minutes, remove with wet washcloth
• Proceed with serums, creams, etc.

Consistency: thick brown crème

Smell: has a strong yeast smell.

How to apply: For best results, apply once or twice a week on a freshly cleaned and toned face and decollete. After 15-20 minutes, remove with wet washcloth and proceed with other products. Do not apply product around the eye area.

TIP: If your skin is drier or more sensitive, mix with Biologique Recherche Masque VIP O2. I like to mix Mask Vivant with Mask VIP O2 and apply all over face and decollate, and then apply just Mask VIPO2 around the eye area.
Size/Longevity: Product comes in 100 ml (3.4 fl. oz.) container. With weekly use, it easily lasts me around 6 months, sometimes longer.
